(5,5'-Dicarboxybiphenyl-2,2'-dicarboxylato-²O²,O^2')bis(1,10-phenanthroline-²N,N')zinc(II) dihydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Zn(C₁₆H₈O₈)(C₁₂H₈N₂)₂]·2H₂O, the Zn^II atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and is six-coordinated by two O atoms from a 5,5'-dicarboxybiphenyl-2,2'-dicarboxylate ligand and four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. The crystal structure involves O-HO hydrogen bonds.
