Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, 2Na+·C14H8O52-, consists of alternating layers of sodium cations and 4,4'-oxydibenzoate anions; the layers are perpendicular to the a axis, with the distance between the layers of cations (or anions) being half this axial length. The Na atoms are disordered over three sites [occupancies 0.775 (4), 0.781 (6) 0.444 (6)].
