4-Chloro-N'-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthylidene)benzohydrazide

D.-S. Yang

Abstract: The molecule of the title compound, C18H13ClN2O2, displays a trans configuration with respect to the C=N double bond. The dihedral angle between the benzene and naphthyl ring systems is 6.0 (2)°. An O-H...N hydrogen bond is observed in the molecular structure. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked through intermolecular N-H...O hydrogen bonds and [pi]-[pi] stacking interactions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.603 (2) Å], forming chains running along the b axis.
