Bis(-biphenyl-2,2'-dicarboxylato)bis[(2,2'-bipyridine)copper(II)]

Abstract: The title compound, [Cu₂(C₁₄H₈O₄)₂(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂], is a centrosymmetric binuclear copper(II) complex, with a CuCu separation of 6.136 (16) Å. The Cu atom displays a cis-CuN₂O₂ square-planar geometry, although two long (> 2.43 Å) CuO contacts complete a distorted cis-CuN₂O₄ octahedron. Extensive C-HO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a three-dimensional network.
