Bis{[(⁵)-cyclopentadienyl]tris(diethyl phosphito-³P,P',P'')cobaltate(III)-³O,O',O'']oxovanadium(IV)}--oxalate

Abstract: The title compound {systematic name: bis[1,4(⁵)-cyclopentadienyl]hexakis(-diethyl phosphito)-1:2⁶P:O;3:4⁶O:P--oxalato-2:3⁴O¹,O²:O^1',O^2'-dioxido-2O,3O-1,4-dicobalt(III)-2,3-divanadium(IV)}, [Co₂V₂(C₅H₅)₂(C₂O₄)(C₄H₁₀O₃P)₆O₂], is an oxalate-bridged dinuclear complex of oxovanadium(IV). The geometric center of the dimer lies on an inversion center. The unique Co atom is bonded to three P atoms and a cyclopentadienyl ring. The unique V atom has six O atom neighbors in an approximately octahedral arrangement; the V-O bond trans to the V=O bond is significantly lengthened.
