catena-Poly[[manganese(II)-tris(-betaine-²O:O')] tetrabromidomanganate(IV)

Abstract: The title compound, [Mn(C₅H₁₁NO₂)₃]·MnBr₄, contains polymeric cationic chains of distorted MnO₆ octahedra and bridging betaine molecules, running parallel to the a axis. There are two distinct Mn²⁺ cations in the chain, both with site symmetry . Distorted [MnBr₄]^2- tetrahedra occupy the spaces between the chains.
