Poly[aqua[₃-N'-(carboxymethyl)ethylenediamine-N,N,N'-triacetato]samarium(III)]

Abstract: In the title coordination polymer, [Sm(C₁₀H₁₃N₂O₈)(H₂O)]_n, each samarium(III) centre is nine-coordinated by six O and two N atoms from three N'-(carboxymethyl)ethylenediamine-N,N,N'-triacetate ligands and one O atom of a water molecule, forming polymeric chains running parallel to the a axis. The packing is governed by intermolecular O-HO hydrogen-bonding interactions.
