Abstract: The structure of the title compound, [Cd₃Cl₆(C₁₅H₁₅NO₂)₂(CH₄O)₂]_n, is based on a layered zigzag polymeric chain along the c axis. The Cd^II ions are linked by double chlorine bridges alternating between one CdCl₄(CH₃OH)₂ and two CdCl₄(C₁₅H₁₅NO₂) octahedral coordination units. Additional intrachain N-HO and O-HCl hydrogen-bond interactions stabilize this arrangement.
