N)cadmium(II)Abstract: The title compound, [Cd(C6H4NO3)2(H2O)4], was obtained by the reaction of cadmium chloride with 5-hydroxynicotinic acid. The CdII atom is located on an inversion centre and is coordinated by two N atoms from two 5-hydroxynicotinic acid ligands and four water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. The structure is stabilized by intermolecular O-H
O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.
