-azido-(
3-nicotinato N-oxide)zinc(II)]Abstract: The title compound, [Zn(C6H4NO3)(N3)], has been prepared by the reaction of nicotinate N-oxide acid, zinc(II) nitrate and sodium azide. The Zn atom is five coordinated by two azide anions and three nicotinate N-oxide ligands. Each nicotinate N-oxide bridges three Zn atoms, whereas the azide bridges two Zn atoms, resulting in the formation of a two-dimensional metal-organic polymer developing parallel to (100).
