Abstract: In the title mononuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu(C14H9N2O)2], the CuII atom, situated on an inversion centre, shows a slightly distorted square-planar geometry and is coordinated by the N and O atoms from two deprotonated symmetry-related Schiff base ligands. The Cu-N and Cu-O bond lengths are 2.009 (2) and 1.888 (2) Å, respectively. The dihedral angle between the cyanophenyl rings and phenolate rings is 42.28 (13)°.
