2,3-Bis(2-methoxyphenyl)tetrazolium-5-thiolate-acetone-dichloromethane (1/0.4/0.1)

K. G. von Eschwege and A. Muller

Abstract: In the title compound, C15H14N4O2S·0.4C3H6O·0.1CH2Cl2, two benzene rings in the ortho-methoxy dehydrodithizone (omd) molecule are twisted out of the tetrazole plane with the methoxy groups in a cis orientation relative to the tetrazole backbone. The acetone is located on a special position. The dihedral angles formed by the benzene rings with the central five-membered ring are 63.14 (8) and 57.06 (6)°. In the crystal structure, the relatively short distance of 3.886 (3) Å between the centroids of benzene rings from two neighbouring omd molecules indicate [pi]-[pi] stacking interactions.
