A monoclinic polymorph of (nitrato-O)tetraphenylantimony(V)

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Sb(C₆H₅)₄(NO₃)], contains two crystallographically independent molecules. Each Sb atom exhibits a slightly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, with the O atom in the apical site. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular C-HO hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.
