3-Phenylisoquinolin-1(2H)-one

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₅H₁₁NO, consists of a planar isoquinolinone group to which a phenyl ring is attached in a twisted fashion [dihedral angle = 39.44 (4)°]. The crystal packing is dominated by intermolecular N-HO and C-HO hydrogen bonds which define centrosymmetric dimeric entitities.
