N-[4-Acetyl-5-methyl-5-(2-p-tolylpropyl)-4,5-dihydro-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl]acetamide

Abstract: The title heterocyclic compound, C₁₇H₂₃N₃O₂S, was synthesized from 4-(4-methylcyclohex-3-enyl)pent-3-en-2-one, which was isolated from Cedrus atlantica essential oil. The thiadiazole ring adopts a flattened envelope conformation, with the flap sp³-hybridized C atom lying 0.259 (1) Å out of the plane of the other four atoms. The screw-related molecules are linked into chains along the b axis by intermolecular N-HO hydrogen bonds.
