Abstract: In the title compound, C₁₂H₁₀ClN₂⁺·I^-, the aromatic rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 54.55 (3)°. In the crystal structure, intermolecular C-HI and C-HCl hydrogen bonds link the molecules.
