Abstract: The cadmium atom in the title compound, [Cd(C₇H₄NO₄)₂(C₆H₆N₂O)₂(H₂O)₂]·2H₂O, lies on a center of inversion in an all-trans octahedral environment. In the crystal, the complex interacts with the uncoordinated water molecules through O-HO and N-HO hydrogen bonds, forming a layered network.
