1-Nitro-2,3-di-2-pyridyl-2,3-dihydroindolizine

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₈H₁₄N₄O₂, was found as a by-product in the nitroaldol reaction between 2-(nitromethyl)pyridine and N-(pyridin-2-ylmethylidene)methaneamine. Its two stereogenic centers give rise to four stereoisomers of which only the anti isomers are found in this crystal structure.
