trans-Bis(5-carboxy-2-methyl-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylato-²N³,O⁴)copper(II)

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C₆H₅N₂O₄)₂], the copper(II) atom lies on an inversion centre and is in an N₂O₂ four-coordinate environment with a nearly regular square-planar geometry. An extended network of intramolecular O-HO and intermolecular N-HO and C-HO hydrogen bonds stabilizes the crystal structure.
