[5-Chloro-2-hydroxy-N'-(2-oxidobenzylidene)benzohydrazidato]pyridinecopper(II)

Abstract: In the title complex, [Cu(C₁₄H₉ClN₂O₃)(C₅H₅N)], the Cu^II ion exhibits a distorted trans-CuN₂O₂ square-planar geometry arising from the O,O,N-tridentate ligand and a pyridine molecule. An intramolecular O-HN hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal structure, weak intermolecular C-H interactions generate a chain. The crystal studied was an inversion twin.
