4-Hydroxy-N'-(4-methoxybenzylidene)benzohydrazide

D.-H. Shi

Abstract: The title compound, C15H14N2O3, was synthesized by the reaction of 4-methoxybenzaldehyde with 4-hydroxybenzohydrazide in methanol. The molecule adopts an E configuration about the C=N bond. The two benzene rings make a dihedral angle of 46.6 (2)°. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to (001) through O-H...O and N-H...O hydrogen bonds.
