Diazidobis(5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridyl-²N,N')nickel(II) monohydrate

Abstract: In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(N₃)₂(C₁₂H₁₂N₂)₂]·H₂O, the Ni^II atom is situated on a twofold axis and adopts a distorted octahedral geometry with the two 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridyl (dmbpy) and the two azide ligands in a cis arrangement. The water solvent molecule is disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio.
