Abstract: In the title compound, C18H16N2O2, the phenylene ring is located on inversion center. The pyridyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 39.9 (1)° with the phenylene ring. In the crystal, adjacent molecules are linked by intermolecular C-H
N hydrogen bonds, forming a linear chain along the a axis.
