Bis[-bis(diphenylphosphino)methane-²P:P']bis[(2,2'-bipyridine-²N,N')copper(I)] bis(tetrafluoroborate)

Abstract: The centrosymmetric title compound, [Cu₂(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂(C₂₅H₂₂P₂)₂](BF₄)₂, consists of discrete dinuclear cations and tetrafluoroborate anions. The two Cu^I centers are bridged by the phosphine ligands to form an eight-membered ring. The Cu^I center exhibits a tetrahedral coordination as it is chelated by the N-heterocycle.
