Bis(-cyclohexane-1,3-dicarboxylato)-³O¹:O⁴,O^4';³O¹,O^1':O⁴-bis[aqua(1,10-phenanthroline-²N,N')zinc(II)]

Abstract: The cyclohexane-1,3-dicarboxylate dianion in the dinuclear centrosymmetric title compound, [Zn₂(C₈H₁₀O₄)₂(C₁₂H₈N₂)₂(H₂O)₂], has a chair conformation with both carboxylate groups in equatorial positions. One carboxylate group chelates a Zn^II atom, whereas the other binds through one O atom only to confer a six-coordinate status to the N-heterocycle-chelated water-coordinated Zn^II atom. Adjacent dinuclear molecules are linked by O-HO hydrogen bonds into a linear chain.
