Abstract: The title compound, [Zn(C19H13N3O2)], has been synthesized by the reaction of Zn(ClO4)2·6H2O and the tetradentate Schiff base ligand 2,2'-[pyridine-3,4-diylbis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol (L). The coordination geometry of the ZnII ion is slightly distorted square-planar, formed by two N atoms and two O atoms from the L ligand.
