2N,N')dibromidocadmium(II)Abstract: In the title complex molecule, [CdBr2(C10H8N2)2], the CdII ion is six-coordinated by two cis-arranged bromide anions and four N atoms of two bidentate 2,2'-bipyridine ligands in a distorted octahedral geometry. The dihedral angle formed by the mean planes through the bipyridine ligands is 87.01 (11)°. In the crystal packing,

stacking interactions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.837 (6) and 3.867 (11) Å] link adjacent complex molecules into chains running parallel to the b axis. The chains are further connected by intermolecular C-H
Br hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.
