Bis(2-methyl-1H-imidazole-N³)silver(I) nitrate dihydrate

Abstract: The Ag^I atom in the salt, [Ag(C₄H₆N₂)₂]NO₃·2H₂O, shows a nearly linear coordination [N-Ag-N = 178.26 (7)°]. The cation, anion and water molecules are linked by N-HO and O-HO hydrogen bonds into a layer motif extending parallel to (101).
