Abstract: In the title compound, C6H16N4O4·4H2O, the tetrazinane molecule lies across an inversion centre. The tetrazinane ring adopts a chair conformation, and all imino H atoms occupy axial positions. In the crystal, adjacent molecules are linked through O-H
O, O-H
N and N-H
O hydrogen bonds with water molecules generating a three-dimensional network.
