Ammonium tris(3-aminopyrazine-2-carboxylato-²N¹,O)nickelate(II) trihydrate

Abstract: The Ni^II atom in the title hydrated salt, (NH₄)[Ni(C₅H₄N₃O₂)₃]·3H₂O, is N,O-chelated by the three 3-aminopyrazine-2-carboxylate ligands, resulting in a distorted octahedral mer-NiN₃O₃ geometry for the metal. In the crystal, the complex anion, ammonium cation and uncoordinated water molecules are linked by extensive N-HN, N-HO, O-HN and O-HO hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.
