Hexaaquazinc(II) bis(4-hydroxybenzenesulfonate) dihydrate

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title hydrated molecular salt, [Zn(H₂O)₆](C₆H₅O₄S)₂·2H₂O, contains two half-cations, two anions and two uncoordinated water molecules. Both cations are completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry, generating almost regular ZnO₆ octahedra. In the crystal, the cations, anions and uncoordinated water molecules are linked by O-HO hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.
