(2,2'-Bipyridyl)bis[N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-N-n-propyldithiocarbamato-²S,S']cadmium(II) acetonitrile solvate

Abstract: The title complex, [Cd(C₆H₁₂NOS₂)₂(C₁₀H₈N₂)]·CH₃CN, features a distorted octahedral N₂S₄ geometry for the Cd^II centre defined by a pair of asymmetrically chelating dithiocarbamate ligands as well as a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand. Supramolecular chains along [001] are formed in the crystal structure, mediated by O-HS hydrogen bonds; the acetonitrile solvent molecules are associated with the chains via O-HN hydrogen bonds.
