2O2:O2')bis[(2,2'-bipyridine-2N,N')(2'-carboxylatobiphenyl-2-carboxylic acid-O2')zinc(II)]Abstract: In the dimeric title compound, [Zn2(C14H9O4)4(C10H8N2)2], the ZnII ions are pentacoordinated by one 2,2'-bipyridyl ligand and by three O atoms from three 2'-carboxylatobiphenyl-2-carboxylic acid ligands. Two of the 2'-carboxylatobiphenyl-2-carboxylic acid ligands act as bridging ligands and, together with two zinc(II) cations, produce an 18-membered ring system. The remaining 2'-carboxylatobiphenyl-2-carboxylic acid ligands work as monodentate ligands. The crystal packing diagram is consolidated by O-H
O hydrogen bonds.
