Abstract: The title Schiff base complex, [ZnI2(C16H24N2O2)], is a mononuclear zinc(II) compound. The Zn atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetrahedral geometry by one phenolate O atom and one imine N atom of the Schiff base ligand and by two iodide ions. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked through intermolecular N-H
O hydrogen bonds, forming chains running along the a axis.
