Hexaaquamanganese(II) tetraaquabis(2-aminopyrazine-N⁴)manganese(II) disulfate dihydrate

Abstract: The reaction of manganese(II) sulfate and 2-aminopyrazine affords the title salt, [Mn(H₂O)₆][Mn(C₄H₅N₃)₂(H₂O)₄](SO₄)₂·2H₂O. The metal atoms in the tetraaqua-coordinated and hexaaqua-coordinated cations lie on centers of inversion in octahedral geometries. The cations, anions and solvent water molecules are linked by O-HO, N-HO and O-HN hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.
