{3,3',5,5'-Tetramethoxy-2,2'-[ethane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenolato}nickel(II)

Abstract: The title square-planar nickel complex, [Ni(C₂₀H₂₂N₂O₆)], has Ni-N and Ni-O bond lengths of 1.8448 (14)/1.8478 (14) and 1.8536 (12)/1.8520 (12) Å. There is a slight twist in the two benzene rings at each end of the complex [dihedral angle = 11.11 (5)°]. All the atoms of the methoxy substitutents are in the plane of the ring to which they are attached except for one which deviates slightly [0.365 (3) Å]. In the crystal, weak C-HO intermolecular interactions connect the molecules.
