O1)neodymium(III)]-
-oxalato-
4O1,O2:O1',O2'] tetrahydrate]Abstract: In the title coordination polymer, {[Nd(C5H2N3O6)(C2O4)(H2O)4]·4H2O}n, the oxalate dianions link adjacent nine-coordinate, tricapped trigonal-prismatic Nd(III) atoms into a chain running along the b axis. The 3,5-dinitropyridin-4-oxido N-oxide ligand is formally a zwitterionic anion; the anion binds to the metal atom through the N-oxide O atom. The chains are connected into a three-dimensional network by O-H
O hydrogen bonds involving the coordinated and uncoordinated water molecules.
