Abstract: The whole molecule of the title coumarin derivative, C11H10O3, is approximately planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.116 (3) Å from the least-squares plane defined by all non-H atoms. In the crystal, adjacent molecules are linked into chains along [011] via intermolecular C-H
O hydrogen bonds.
