{1,1'-[Butane-1,4-diylbis(nitrilomethylidyne)]di-2-naphtholato}copper(II) ethanol monosolvate

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(C₂₆H₂₂N₂O₂)]·C₂H₅OH, comprises a Schiff base complex and an ethanol molecule of crystallization. The Cu^II atom shows a distorted square-planar geometry. The dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 48.16 (13)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular O-HO and C-HO hydrogen bonds and intermolecular - interactions with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.485 (2)-3.845 (3) Å.
