Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(C26H22N2O2)]·C2H5OH, comprises a Schiff base complex and an ethanol molecule of crystallization. The CuII atom shows a distorted square-planar geometry. The dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 48.16 (13)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular O-H
