Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C₁₆H₁₄ClN₃OS, contains two independent molecules (A and B) linked into dimers via N-HN hydrogen bonds. The 1,3-benzothiazol-2-yl ring system and the benzene ring form dihedral angles of 17.08 (8) and 8.63 (7)° in molecules A and B, respectively.
