Abstract: In the title molecular salt, (C4H10NO)2[CoCl4], the morpholinium cations adopt chair conformations and the tetrachloridocobaltate(II) anion is significantly distorted from regular tetrahedral geometry [Cl-Co-Cl = 102.183 (19)-117.59 (2)°]. The Co-Cl bond lengths for the chloride ions not accepting hydrogen bonds are significantly shorter than those for the chloride ions accepting such bonds. In the crystal, the components are linked by N-H
O and N-H
Cl and bifurcated N-H
(O,Cl) hydrogen bonds to generate (100) sheets.
