Trichlorido(4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine-²N,N')(methanol-O)indium(III) methanol monosolvate

Abstract: In the title compound, [InCl₃(C₁₂H₁₂N₂)(CH₃OH)]·CH₃OH, the In^III atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry by two N atoms from a chelating 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine ligand, one O atom from a methanol molecule and three Cl atoms. In the crystal, intermolecular O-HO and O-HCl hydrogen bonds link the complex and solvent methanol molecules. Intramolecular C-HCl hydrogen bonds are also present in the complex.
