5-Methyl-1H-indole-3-carbaldehyde

Abstract: The title molecule, C₁₀H₉NO, is almost planar with an r.m.s. deviation for all non-H atoms of 0.0115 Å. In the crystal, molecules are connected through N-HO hydrogen bonds into chains running along [021]. The chains are further connected via C-H interactions, forming layers in the bc plane.
