Trichlorido(6-methyl-2,2'-bipyridine-²N,N')(dimethylsulfoxide-O)indium(III)

Abstract: In the title compound, [In(C₁₁H₁₀N₂)Cl₃(C₂H₆OS)], the In^III cation is six-coordinated in a distorted octahedral configuration by two N atoms from the chelating 6-methyl-2,2'-bipyridine ligand, one O atom from a dimethylsulfoxide group and three Cl^- anions. Weak intermolecular C-HO and C-HCl hydrogen bonds and intramolecular C-HCl hydrogen bonds are present in the structure.
