2-[3-(Naphthalen-2-yl)phenyl]naphthalene

Abstract: The title compound, C₂₆H₁₈, consists of a benzene ring with meta-substituted 2-naphthalene substituents, which are essentially planar [r.m.s. deviations = 0.022 (1) and 0.003 (1) Å]. The conformation is syn, with equivalent torsion angles about the benzene-naphthalene bonds of -36.04 (13) and +34.14 (13)°. The molecule has quasi-C_s molecular symmetry.
