Hi Howard, I am very careful about the support of interpreters. I had the opportunity of using such a service when publishing with physicians and the person just completely changed the meaning of some of the sentences so that I had to correct him after. This came from the fact that, although a scientist, he/she was not an expert in the filed and did not really understood the text. So that my recommendation would be to find a native English speaking PhD student who needs some money! At the same time English speaking people have to accept the dark side of the advantage of the universality of English. We write broken English papers! Regards and best wishes for the new year. Yves Howard Flack a écrit : I had not realized that there were commercial services for improving the written English in scientific manuscripts. Perhaps editors of IUCr journals could send a list of such services to authors whose English is so bad that the paper is deemed unfit to be sent to referees. |
