D is the orthogonal distance between the sample and the virtual front side of the detector. O_D is the intersection of the line perpendicular to the virtual front side with this side (i.e. O_D corresponds to the direct beam for [delta]

= 0). O_N is at the bottom corner of the lowest module in the yz plane (x = x_d = 0). The detector frame (x_d,y_d,z_d) has its origin at O_N.
