Relative radially averaged electron densities with respect to the glass matrix for the large CaF2 crystals after 40 h annealing at energies of 3800 and 4036 eV. ASAXS reveals a shell region with a lower electron density than the matrix. The relative electron density change with increasing X-ray energy (red) indicates that some Ca remains in the shell region.
