A three-phase system composed of a homogeneous region 1 with the scattering length density [\rho_{1}], which `absorbs' a region 2 with the density [\rho_{2}]. They together are embedded in a homogeneous medium (solvent or solid matrix) with the density [\rho_{0}]. The three-phase system is equivalent to the two-phase one in a vacuum with the contrast densities [\rho_{1}-\rho_{0}] and [\rho_{2}-\rho_{0}].
