FWHM of Si peaks plotted versus 2θ for capillaries of different diameters for patterns collected at 12.4 keV obtained by Voigt profile fits. The measured (uncorrected) FWHMs are represented by the empty markers connected by a dashed line, while the corrected FWHMs are drawn as filled markers connected by a solid line. The gray solid line represents the best fit to the corrected values as from equation (7)[link]. The corrected FWHMs are calculated by subtracting the geometrical contribution σgeom from the total peak broadening σ as from equation (6)[link] using FWHM = 2[2ln2]1/2σ. The assumed wobbling radius 0 ± 20 µm is the dominant contribution to the error bars shown.
